Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature

Happy Earth Day!!! – April 22nd, 2018
It has been an exciting month with great news for the Rights of Nature and we, at the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN), are inspired by the latest events and the positive actions that have been taking place. From Australia, to Canada, to Colombia, and other parts of the world, we are seeing significant progress in the process of bringing legal protection and greater consciousness to nature and all living things. We hope we continue to receive good news from around the World. It is incredibly motivating for our movement, for every environmental activist and for nature itself to be recognized and to progress in such a way: the hard work pays off. Keep the good news coming!
Save the date!

It is exciting for us to share with our community that the International Symposium to Commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Rights of Nature in Ecuador will be taking place on the 27th and 28th of September; which marks the date of Rights of Nature recognized in Ecuador’s Constitution 10 years ago. There will be round-table discussions, talks and multiple events with recognized researchers, academics, activists and civil society groups and organizations around this historic event. We will showcase how this milestone has influenced legal, social and environmental aspects in Ecuador (the first and only country to recognize Rights of Nature in its Constitution).

We hope you can make it!
